John Gary Dellapiazza, 65, passed away at his home on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 following a long and courageous 4-year battle with cancer. Born June 7, 1952 in Washington, PA, he was the son of the late John and Violet (Irene) Ray Dellapiazza. John loved spending time with his family and friends. John was employed at Weirton Steel/Arcelor Mittal for the past 48 years and was loved dearly by his work family. Always willing to lend a hand, “Gary” will be especially remembered for all the dishes he washed at the Little Inn in Paris, PA. John is survived by his loving wife Nancy whom he married on March 29, 2005; step sons Matthew (Jennette) Fritch of Kissimmee, FL, and Anthony (Cassie) Fritch of Kingston, PA; two grandchildren Cayla and Jasen Fritch; his loving cousin Naomi (Albert) Ruschell of Midway, PA and uncle George Ray of Midway, PA. John was preceded in death by his daughter Jamie Lee Dellapiazza; grandparents George and Sarah Ray of Bulger and John and Stella Dellapiazza of Cherry Valley. Friends will be received on Sunday from 1-3, 6-8 PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main St., Weirton, where funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 AM. Pastor Karen Jacobs will officiate. Private entombment will be held at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Weirton.
