Josephine D'Alesio

Josephine D’Alesio, 98, of Weirton, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2019, at her home, in the Serra Manor
She was born July 8, 1920, in Pettorano Sul Gizio, Italy, a daughter of the late Michele and Filomena DelMonico Orsini. She was also preceded in death by her husband Joseph D’Alesio on January 17, 2012, whom she married December 1, 1945, grandson Andy D’Alesio, great-granddaughter Gabriella D’Alesio, and her sister, Rita Hlifka.
She was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church and Christian Mothers.
Mrs. D’Alesio was a beautician and a homemaker. Most of all she will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, mother in law, grandmother and great grandmother, who loved to cook and spend time with her family.
Josephine’s family will always cherish her one liners of “Heaven Forbid”, “Knock on Wood”, and last but not least “God Bless You.
Josephine will be remembered with love by her sons; William “Bill” (Sandy) D’Alesio of Weirton, Mike (Becky) D’Alesio of Reynoldsburg, OH and Joseph (Diane) D’Alesio of Cleveland, OH; brother Libert (Tootsie) Orsini of Steubenville; grandchildren, Julie (Nathan) Mazur , Joe (Mandy) D’Alesio,Jason (Alene) D’Alesio , David, Brittany and Michael D’Alesio and Valerie (John) Van Vickle; and ten great-grandchildren Melanie, Nicholas, Dominic Mazur, Rocco, Vinnie, Anna , Alexandra, Adriana, Samantha and Sabrina D’Alesio.
Her last message to her family was “I love you have a nice life.”
Friends and family will be celebrating her life Friday from 4-8 PM at Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9: 00 AM Saturday at St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church with The Reverend Father Dennis R. Schuelkens, Jr. officiating. Entombment will follow in St. Paul Cemetery, Weirton.

Mrs. D’Alesio’s family would like to thank Valley Hospice and Rhonda Quatrocchi and her staff and the residents at Serra Manor for all the love and care they shared with Josephine while she was a resident at Serra Manor.

Mrs. D’ Alesio is the best “pizzelle” maker we know. We have very fond memories of visiting with her when we were Mike and Becky. We will always remember her bringing up the sodas from the basement with her little caddy. We use it all the time when we have company, and always see her with that nice smile on your face. I’m sorry to hear about the loss of your loved one. When someone we love dies, it’s natural to want to see that person again. God promises us that He will comfort us in our trials if we go to him in prayer. 2 Corinthians 1:3 calls him the God of all comfort.
