Judith Ann Shaw
September 5, 1941 ~ December 21, 2020
Judith Ann Shaw of Weirton, a caring, devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on Monday, December 21, 2020. She was 79.
Judy was one of two daughters born to Charles and Anne Carpino Petrucci. When Judy was a young girl, her mother married Leebert Wise, and they had two daughters, making a family of four daughters.
Born on September 5, 1941, Judy grew up in Minerva, Ohio, and graduated from Minerva High School.
After High school, Judy was employed at the First United Bank of Minerva before joining United Airlines.
While she was working at United Airlines, she was introduced to a traveling salesman named Lenny Shaw. On December 20, 1972, Al Shaw's Jewelers' family business closed up for a few hours, and Lenny and Judy were married. After the ceremony, they returned to work to take care of their customers.
In 1979, Lenny and Judy adopted two children, Ronnie in February and Alexis later in December.
Lenny continued to work at Al Shaw Jewelers on Main Street in Weirton. Eventually, he moved the store to Robinson Township, where he renamed it L.S. Jewelers.
Very caring and selfless, Judy took care of their home and children. She was an outstanding cook and never missed an event that the children were involved in.
When the grandchildren arrived, Judy loved to share the family traditions with them. Not only was she talented in the kitchen, but Judy was also a gifted oil and watercolor artist. For relaxation, she enjoyed reading, doing cross-stitch, and feeding the deer in her yard.
Judy and Lenny will always be remembered in the community for their generosity to others. They enjoyed giving back to the community.
Judy nourished her faith at Saint Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church. Jesus Christ performed miracles in Judy's life.
In addition to her father, mother, and step-father, Judy was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Shaw, on February 27, 2016; her two sisters, Lee Ann Wise and Mary Jane Hardgrove.
Judy will be remembered with love and admiration by her son, Dr. Ronald David Shaw and his wife Dr. Lauren Shaw; and her daughter, Alexis Shaw, and her children, Paul and Allison Dotson; and her sister, Rose Schupbach and her husband, Terry.
A celebration of Judy's life will be held in the future when family and friends can share hugs and stories.
Memorial contributions in Judy's memory may be made to Saint Jude's Children's Hospital.www.stjude.org or to the Hancock County Animal Shelter 715 Gas Valley Road New Cumberland, WV 26047. Share tributes at www.grecohertnick.com
