Julia Cervi Ard, 94, of Weirton passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2013 in D & D Quality Care, Weirton. Born on September 15, 1918 in Weirton, Julia was a daughter of the late Adam and Regina Gianferrari Cervi. She was also preceded in death by her husband Curtis D. Ard whom she married in 1945, two grandchildren Kinsley S. Ard and Dylan C. Ard and two sisters Erida Gabbie and Lena Cervi. Julia was the valedictorian of the WHS class of 1936, worked as a bookkeeper for the General Office of Weirton Steel Corp. for 9 years and Cove Car for 5 years. After raising her two sons, Mrs. Ard worked in the dental office for her son, Dr. Ronald C. Ard, for 25 years. Julia was a very active member of Weirton Heights Memorial Baptist Church where she was a deaconess. She also was a member of Three Score Seniors, AARP and enjoyed cooking. She is survived by two sons Dr. Ronald C. Ard and David D. Ard both of Weirton and granddaughter Shelby A. Ard. Friends may call on Friday from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main St., Weirton, where funeral services will be held 11 am Saturday. Entombment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Weirton. Memorial contributions may be made to Weirton Heights Memorial Baptist Church 121 Ivy St. Weirton, WV 26062 or D & D Quality Care 115 Boley St. Weirton, WV 26062.
