Kathryn E. Upright, 61, of Weirton, passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2012 in the Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA. Born October 28, 1950, in Steubenville, OH, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Rose Malone Yeater. Kay graduated Valedictorian from WVNCC School of Nursing, eventually furthering her education with Franciscan University and Wheeling Jesuit University. A registered nurse, Kay lovingly dedicated 31 years to her patients of Weirton Medical Center Pediatrics Floor. Kay loved her job and co workers at Weirton Medical but truly enjoyed the time she spent with her six grandchildren. She was a member of Paris Presbyterian Church. Kay is survived by her husband Sidney J. Upright of Weirton, whom she married April 10, 1968; sons Curt (Stacie) Upright and Carl (Tiffani) Upright all of Weirton; sister Karen Bonacci of Paris, PA; six grandchildren Corey, Melina, Grant, Sydney, Carly and Dylan; and her co-workers at the Weirton Medical Center Pediatric Floor. Visitation will be held Friday from 2-4 and 7-9PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV. Additional visitation will be held Saturday from 10 until the 11AM funeral service at the Paris Presbyterian Church. The Reverend Dan Eakas will officiate. Private interment will be held at the convenience of her family.   1. Kay was one of a kind. She was very kindhearted and always tried to be helpful to people. She had an extraordinary work ethic.She had an incredibly contagious laugh! How she loved to talk about her family and her beautiful grandchildren! She will be sorely missed on the Pediatrics unit at WMC, but never forgotten. She is irreplaceable.   7. Kay and I were the best of friends growing up for many years. She will be remembered by many as a caring and loving person. My prayers go out to Curt, Carl, Sid, and Karen. I will miss you Kay.

  13. I have worked with Kay for the past sixteen years at WMC. She was a good Nurse and a kind person. Her presence, her friendship, and her experience as a pediatric nurse will greatly missed. But most of all she will be missed.
