Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. To the family of Larry Gryskevich. I was saddened to read in the paper the passing of Larry. I was born and raised on Weir Avenue and it was always a blessing to see and talk to Larry when I was visiting Weirton. Even when I played sports at Weir High he always reminded me that I was from Weir Avenue, and I should always represent. He never stopped giving me pointers and support on how to be a better athlete. He will be in my memory. The last time I saw him was about five years ago and was surprised that I remembered him. It’s hard to forget friends, he will be missed! Bob Kelley

  2. Larry and Family, I am so sorry to see that your father has past away. Larry, you popped into my head for some reason today and I did a quick search on the Internet and saw of your dad’s passing. My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family. Greg

  3. Larry, and Family, You all know how special that man was to me, like a father, and a role model. I will always remember him and that green truck, his green windbreaker coat, and his smile. He is dearly missed and will ALWAYS be thought of. I MISS YOU BIG LARE!!!

  4. Uncle, you can’t imagine how I feel right now. We just spent the most memorable times together watching the Steelers in the playoffs, and win the Super Bowl. Watching the Steeler games will never be the same without having you there with us, and I will forever cherish those Sundays that you spent with my parents and me. You had such a huge heart, and you touched everyone in your life in such a special and unforgetable way. You loved Aunt Theresa, your children and 12 grandchildren in a way that I’ve never seen before (and Bear too). You know that my Dad loved you like you were his own brother, and right now, my Mom’s heart is broken in two, and can’t believe that you’re gone from her life. The only comfort that I have right now is knowing that you’re in heaven with Uncle John, Uncle Alex, Aunt Jennie, Aunt Doe and Aunt Zanovia. I will miss you more than words can say, and I love you with all of my heart. Love, Jan

  5. I am so sorry for the loss of Mr. “G”. My condolences to each of you (Theresa, Lori, Larry, Vicki and Jen). I was so shocked to hear of the news. It made me start to think of how much time has really slipped away since those innocent days of my youth. I am reminded of so many fun times at the ball field, at your home and at other activities that Mr. “G” was present at. I wish I could be physically present with you to let you know how saddened I am of this untimely event. If you need anything, please don’t hesitate to contact me. The entire family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

  13. Dear Theresa and Family, Growing up next door to the Gryskevich’s on Weir Avenue was a real treat. There were four houses on our side of the street. We were like one big happy family. 20. Larry, I was shocked to hear the news today about your father from Sal this morning. All the memories I have of your father are wonderful. 25. dad, say a little prayer for larrys team- the chicago bears. wish you were here to cheer them along. i love you.

  26. Uncle, I miss you so very much. Watching the Steeler games this past year just wasn’t the same knowing that you wouldn’t be here with my parents and I had they made the playoffs, not to mention the Super Bowl. My last awesome memory of you was watching you play the games during the Super Bowl, and you making me laugh so hard! I have to admit that I put the picture of you and I (taken at my parent’s 50th anniversay) next to me during every Steeler game just so you could watch every game with me. Aunt Theresa called me last night…we spoke for about an hour, but the really odd thing was that when I saw it was your phone number, I had to stop and think that it wouldn’t be your voice on the other end, and I had to hold back my tears. Talking to Aunt Theresa was very comforting , and you must know that she’s hurting so much that I can’t put it into words. My Mom and Dad miss you more than words can say. We talk about you every Sunday at the dinner table, we cry and try to dry our tears, but it’s very difficult to do. A day doesn’t go by that we don’t think about you. My Mom just wishes she could get one more of your 11:30 Sunday morning phone calls. But don’t worry, Uncle, my Dad and I are taking good care of your sister, but I just wish you were still here for her. Her heart just hurts so much. You know you were like a brother to my Dad, and he’s having such a rough time of it too. We still can’t believe you’re gone, and you left us too soon. I love you, Uncle. Jan
