Larry L. Kimble, 80 of Weirton, WV passed away Friday, August 26, 2022, at his home. He was born April 14, 1942, in Green County Pennsylvania, to the union of Arthur and Sarah (Barnhart) Kimble.

Kimble was a member of Colonial Baptist Church in Wintersville, Ohio. At the age of 18, Kimble enlisted in the United States Army where he proudly served his country as an E5 sergeant during the Vietnam Era. There, he was awarded a Purple Heart for injuries sustained in the war. After receiving an honorable discharge in 1971, he was employed at Weirton Steel Corporation in Weirton, West Virginia, where he retired.

In his early days, he loved to play golf, travel with his wife and spending time with his family. He was always willing to help anyone at the drop of a hat. His family will remember him as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle.

In addition to his parents, He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan E. (Cox) Kimble, with whom he celebrated 50 years of marriage. Grandson, Gerald E. Abercrombie; two sisters, Betty, Carol Sue (Larry’s twin who died shortly after birth.); 7 brothers, Delmont, George, Jack, Richard, Edward “Red”, Ronald, and Dewey.

Left with precious memories are his children: Laura (George) Price, Douglas (April) Kimble, Jennifer (Scott) Abercrombie; his grandchildren: Brandon (Hannah), Bradley, Timothy, Caitlyn, Amanda, Mark (Cara), Ryan (Rachel), Sydney, Emma and Nathan; his great grandchildren: Braden, Lucas, Ethan, Selah, Annalise, Levi, Dominic and Veronica, along with Many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Sunday, August 28, 2022, from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV., where funeral services will be held on Monday, August 29, 2022, at 11AM with Pastor Randy Sells officiating.

A Private Interment with military honors has been scheduled at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
