Laura M. Maxian, 87, of Downers Grove, IL, formerly of Weirton, passed away Thursday, September 21, 2006 at the Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove. Born April 22, 1919 in Natrona, PA, she was the daughter of the late Zygmont and Sophia Krukowski Komorowski. Laura was also preceded in death by her husband Thomas on December 14, 1996 and brother John Komorowski. With 15 years of service, Laura retired from Krogers where she worked as a cashier. She was a member of Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Christian Mothers, Rosary Society and the Three Score Seniors Club. Laura’s survivors include her daughter Gloria Stacy of Downers Grove, IL; brother Walter “Chester” Komorowski and sister Eleanor (John) Peterson all of Weirton; granddaughters Loretta Bartley of Texas, Christine Kazienko, Theresa (Jeff) Arnold and Donna (Al) Ramirez all of Illinois; 5 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Tuesday 3-7PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 10AM Wednesday at Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church. The Very Reverend Joseph L. Peterson will officiate.
