Letha Allene - Ash - Cooper
March 2, 1928 ~ July 23, 2008
Letha Allene Ash Cooper, 80, of New Cumberland, WV, formerly of Follansbee, WV, passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at the Valley Hospice Palliative Care Unit in Steubenville, OH.
Born March 2, 1928 in Minden, WV, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Floyd and Mary Elizabeth Persinger Goins. Letha was also preceded in death by her husbands Robert Eugene Smith and Paul Ash, son Ronald E. Smith on November 19, 1973 and sisters Phyllis Bibb and Janice Canterbury.
Letha was a homemaker and a member of the Mercy Baptist Church where she volunteered as school records secretary. Letha was also employed at the Wigs Department Store, and the Oak Hill Ferris Aid
Letha is survived by her husband Henry Cooper of New Cumberland , whom she married in 1997; step children, Susan Phillips, Sharon and Ray Neely, Jackie and David Pulver, Robert and Rickey Smith; brothers, Curtis and Betty Goins of Oak Hill, WV, Leonard and Drema Goins of Cleveland, OH and Darrell and Alma Goins of Spencer, OH and three grandchildren, Lisa and Randy Williams, Tracy and Michael Jackson and Jennifer and Dan Carter; seven great grandchildren, Brandon, Ashley, Hunter, Kristy, Noah, Caitlen, Harley Hobbs; step grandchildren and step great grandchildren, .
Friends will be received Friday 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton where funeral services will be celebrated at 8 PM Friday.
Pastor James Rhodes will officiate.
Interment will be Saturday at 1 PM in High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill, WV.
