Lisa Marie Fritch Popish, 41, of Weirton passed away Friday February 26, 2010, at the Magee Womens Hospital of UPMC in Pittsburgh. Lisa was born to George M. and Sue Bartley Fritch on December 12, 1968, in Steubenville, OH. A graduate and class treasurer of the 1987 Class of Weir High School, Lisa furthered her education on the Dean’s List at West Liberty, where she received her degree in Dental Hygiene. Currently, Lisa was a dental hygienist with the office of Thomas Dietrich, DDS in Washington, PA. She loved spending time with her daughter, McKenna. Disney World ranked as one of her favorite places and Jimmy Buffett one of her favorite entertainers. Lisa also enjoyed quilting. She was a member of Saint Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, First Baptist Quilting Club, and the American Dental Hygienist Association. She is survived by her parents, George M. and Sue Bartley Fritch; her husband, David L. Popish; her daughter, McKenna Lee Popish; her sister Andrea Renee Stead and her husband, Rick; her nieces Raegan and Bailey Stead; step sons Eric and Shawn Popish all of Weirton. Visitation will be Monday and Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street Weirton, WV Funeral Liturgy with mass will be celebrated 10 AM Wednesday, at the Saint Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, Weirton, WV. Rev. Fr. Dean Borgmeyer will preside. Entombment will follow at Saint Paul Mausoleum, Weirton. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hancock Animal Shelter 715 Gas Valley Road New Cumberland, WV 26047

  8. I saw Lisa this summer and we talked for a long time. I never knew of her sickness until recently. After our conversation, I said to myself that she has never changed- always a friendly and beautiful soul. She was now, as she was in high school- a great person. To her family- you have my truest sympathy. I know how much you love her. Bless all of you. Sometimes angels are needed in a much better place. She is needed.

Everyone there could only think of her, fighting for her life that day in the hospital. We all had such hope.   30. Mr & Mrs Fritch and family, I was so sad when I found out about Lisa’s cancer. She was a wonderful person, always kind, never a bad word against anyone. My memeories of her are wonderful memories that I will cherish forever. Life is so unpredictable, I know this first hand in dealing with the loss of my brother. Growing up, she was more like a cousin than just a friend, our families have always been entwined to one another. She will truly be missed by everyone that new her. She was truly a great person on the inside and out.
