From hearing about your war stories to just spending time with you for 17 years, you influenced my life in ways I’ll never be able to thank you enough for. I’ve never met someone so selfless and simple in my life. You taught me to appreciate the little things in life and to keep a smile on my face during the toughest times. I’ll always remember taking you out for a walk the day before you went into the hospital and you told me “do good Mia, especially in school” so my promise is to do that for you. I’m gonna miss you so much everyday. Rest easy, I love you

  8. Dad, growing up I never realized how lucky I was to have such a wonderful mother and father who taught me from an early age all about God, love, respect, honesty and compassion. Even up until your final days I was still learning from you your determination and strong will and how you continued to worry about everyone before yourself. You were always there for me to share all my life changing experiences from teaching me how to ride a bike to driving a car! I was so blessed to have you there to walk me down the aisle and for the birth of your two grandsons. You were definitely an angel here on earth to now an angel in heaven. I will continue to learn from your ways and pray that I can be at least half the person you were. We were so lucky to have you for 91 years here on this earth, now it’s time to share you with the other angels! You were truly one of a kind……..my hero!
