Margaret “Peggy” Corey, 60, of Weirton, WV, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Sunday, February 1, 2026.
Peggy was born on August 13, 1965, in Weirton, WV, one of five daughters born to the late Dale and Dixie Markley Monroe. She graduated from Weir High School in 1983.
Peggy was first employed at Pavlik Chevrolet before turning her love of cleaning into a career, providing cleaning services throughout the Tri-State area.
Peggy will be remembered for her generosity and her constant desire to help others. She had a truly big heart and never let anyone leave her home hungry. Her grandchildren fondly recalled that no visit was complete without Peggy asking, “Can I make you a ham sandwich?” She showed love through food, kindness, and care.
She also adored her dogs, Pugsley and Bella, whom she spoiled endlessly; often sharing human treats like peaches, lunch meat, and even Mountain Dew.
Peggy is lovingly remembered by her ex-husband, with whom she shared her home and daily life, Mike Corey; her son, Alex Corey (Mandi Miller); her grandchildren, who adored her, Brayden Corey, Gionni Starr, and Paxton Corey; and her sisters, Becky (Brian) Cain, Kathy (Ron) Lesky, Vicki (Kenny) Utt, and Lisa (Dwayne Greathouse) Ayers.
Friends and relatives will be received on Friday from 12 noon until 1:00 PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV, where funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM.
On February 14th at 3 PM all our invited to attend a celebration of life service for Peggy, at the Church of Christ Fellowship Hall located at 3169 Pennsylvania Avenue Weirton, WV. It will be in the hall in back of the church building.

Vickie, Lisa, Cathy & Becky,
I am so sorry for your loss. Peggy was a hard worker. I know her grandkids loved her. I can always remember Daddy saying around the first of August. Peggy will be over a lot in the next few weeks to remind us that her birthday is the 13th.
May God comfort you as only He can during this time.
Love you all!!
I am so saddened to learn about little Peggy. All you Monroe girls have a special fondness in my heart. My prayers are with every one of you.
Sending my deepest sympathy to Peggy’s family. I am so sorry for your loss.
Kathy Castelli
You have my heartfelt sympathy. May Peggy Rest in Eternal Peace. She will be sorely missed
