Mark Joseph Urbowicz, 52, of Weirton, passed away Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at his home. Born May 1, 1960 in Weirton, he was the son of Sandra Krivak Urbowicz of Weirton and the late Walter Anthony Urbowicz. He was also preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Walter J. and Nancy Urbowicz and maternal grandparents Michael and Helena Krivak. A 1978 graduate of Weir High School and Airco Welding School, Mark worked 20 years in the Weirton Steel Tin Mill. For the last 8 years, he has been working as a coater operator for the Ball Corporation in Weirton. Mark was Catholic by faith. In addition to his mother, Mark is survived by his wife Barbara Taylor Urbowicz of Weirton, son Matthew Urbowicz at home; sisters Jolynn Urbowicz of Westerville, OH and Carol Brancazio and her husband T. J. of Weirton and several nieces and nephews. Mark's family will visit with friends and family Saturday from 10 until the 11AM Memorial Service at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV. Private interment will be held at the convenience of his family.

I am grateful to have had him as a childhood friend and enjoyed our visits when I returned all these years later.   21. My thoughts and prayers go out to all the family. I grew up next door to Mark and the family. I always considered them my family too.I did come back to visit a couple of times and got to see them.Mark was busy and i didn’t get to see him. May he rest in peace, free of pain.
