Mary A. Hvizdzak, 85, of Weirton died, peacefully at her home, with her family at her side, on Tuesday March 24, 2015. Born on February 23, 1930, in Weirton, WV, Mary was the daughter of the late Michael and Anna Varmeda Mohorovski. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Michael Hvizdzak; her two brothers, Michael and John Mohoroski; and her great granddaughter, Christina Moore. A loving mother and faithful servant of God, Mary will always be remembered for her generosity and her fabulous cooking. She was a member of Saint Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church, Saint Mary's Altar and Rosary Society, Catholic Daughters of America, Greek Catholic Union Lodge 697, Three Score Seniors, and the AARP. Mary is survived by her three sons, David and Barbara, Greg and Georgia Hvizdzak all of Weirton, WV and Edward and Faye Hvizdzak of Colliers, WV; two daughters, Honey and John Moore of Weirton, WV and Michelle Lahita and her fianc, Harry Trosch of Tiltonsville, OH; 10 grandchildren, Christopher (Karen) Moore, Andrew Moore, Jennifer (Tom) Rowland, Nicole (Kristopher) Tingler, Michael (Toni) Hvizdzak, Laura Boni, Andrea (Jeremy) Dodd, Nicholas Hvizdzak, Philip (Jada) Lahita, Rachel Lahita, 13 great grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces from Weirton and Southern California. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Thursday and 1-3 and 6-8 PM Friday at the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street Weirton, WV A Parastas Service will be held 2:30 PM on Friday. A Blessing Service will be held 10:30 AM on Saturday at the funeral home followed by a 11 AM Funeral at Saint Mary's Byzantine Church 3116 Elm Street Weirton, WV Reverend Father Edward Lucas will preside.
