Mary G. Mellis
September 24, 1913 ~ January 30, 2006
Mary G. Mellis, 92, of Weirton, passed away Monday, January 30, 2006 at the Weirton Medical Center. She was born in Chios, Greece on September 24, 1913. Mary was also preceded in death by her husband George J. Mellis on June 28, 1992, brothers Nick and George Makricostas and sister Irene Matheos.
Mary was a homemaker and a member of the All Saints Greek Orthodox Church.
Mary’s survivors include her sons Mr. and Mrs. John Mellis of Annapolis, MD and Mr. and Mrs. James Mellis of Silver Springs, MD and daughter Irene and Don Pidgeon of Frederick, MD.
Friends will be received Tuesday 2-4 and 6-8PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. Additional visitation will be held Wednesday from 10 until the 11AM funeral services at the All Saints Greek Orthodox Church. Reverend Father Frank Milanese will officiate. Interment will be in Chestnut Ridge Cemetery, Florence, PA.
