Mary I. (Jean) Connell

Mary I. "Jean" Connell, 89, of Villa Hills, KY, formerly of Weirton, passed away Thursday, December 29, 2016. She was born July 22, 1927 in Wick, WV, a daughter of the late Robert Allen and Opal Gladys (Jones) Summers. She was also preceded in death by her husband Robert S. Connell on January 5, 2007, brothers Sam, Joey and Jim Summers and sister Shirley Gum.
Jean was a homemaker and a former member of the First United Methodist Church in Weirton.
She is survived by her daughters Diane Kile of Villa Hills, KY with whom she made her home and Lisa Dahl of Everett, WA; son Ronald K. Connell of O'Fallon, MO; 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Sunday 6-8PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, where funeral services will be celebrated 11AM Monday. Pastor Carol McKay will officiate. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Weirton.

To Lisa, Diane and Ron, So very sorry to hear about the loss of your dear mother. She was truly like a second mother to me as a teen, always so welcoming and generous. I will never forget her! You will all be in our thouhts and prayers.
