mary heiserman

Mary Kay Heiserman, 65, of Weirton, WV, passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2026.

Born on August 29, 1960, in Weirton, WV, she was one of four children born to the late James E. and Rose Marie (Brown) Allen.

She was a graduate of Weir High School, Class of 1978, and continued her education for a brief time at West Virginia University. Mary Kay trained in phlebotomy and as an EKG technician, working at Allegheny Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.

On July 20, 1996, Mary Kay married the love of her life, William Joe Heiserman, a Vietnam War veteran. From the moment she met Joe, she knew she had found her life partner. Joe worked as a plumber with Local 495 Plumbers and Pipefitters Union, while Mary Kay took care of their home. Following Joe’s passing on July 29, 2025, after a battle with cancer, Mary Kay’s heart was never the same. Most of all, Mary Kay will be remembered for her loving and caring nature.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Mary Kay was preceded in death by her two brothers, Richard “Rick” Allen and Jim Allen.

She is survived by her sister, Susan (Gary) Soplinski; her nieces, Joyce, Carly (Emma) and Danika and nephew James and Christopher; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and her cherished cats, Nick, Meesha, and Baby, who brought her comfort and companionship.

Adhering to Mary Kay’s wishes, there will not be any traditional services. In respect to Mary Kay’s love for her cats, memorial contributions may be made to your local humane society.

She will be cremated by the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home’s crematory 3219 Main Street Weirton, WV and laid to rest with her husband Joe at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
