Mary Mutzi Momcilovich
June 25, 1925 ~ February 26, 2006
Mary Mutzi Momcilovich, 80, of Weirton, passed away Sunday, February 26, 2006 at the Weirton Geriatric Center. Born June 25, 1925 in Weirton, she was the daughter of the late Bozo and Milica Trbovich Musulin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-father, John Kazinec and brothers Mike “Moose” Musulin and Frank Kazmierski.
Mary graduated from Weir High School in 1943 and married Pete Momcilovich on July 13, 1947. Over the years, she worked for Divich’s Clover Farm store, Max’s Market, Michael’s Jewelers, and Francis Draperies. She was a member of the Holy Resurrection Serbian Eastern Orthodox Church, where she had served as a Sunday school teacher and in many other capacities. She was an original member of the Miriana Singing Society, which later became the Petar Krstich Choir. She was a member of SNF Lodge 78. She will be remembered by many as an avid bingo player.
She is survived by her husband Pete of Weirton, daughters Marianne Pierce and her husband Bill of Greenville, SC; Marcia Sternart and her husband Pete of Weirton and grandchildren Matthew and Meghan Sternart. She is also survived by sisters Anna Bruich and Martha Allender of Weirton and brother Joe Kasinec of North Ridgeville, Ohio.
Friends will be received Tuesday 6-8PM and Wednesday 2-4 and 6-8PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, where funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 Noon Thursday with The Very Reverend Father Rade Merick presiding. Pomen Service will be held 6:30PM Wednesday. Interment will be in Serbian Cemetery, Weirton.
