Mimi Sarap, 44, of Weirton, passed away Thursday, March 23, 2006 at her home after a lengthy battle with cancer. Born January 21, 1962 in Weirton, she was the daughter of Dolores Bish Sarap of Weirton and the late Robert S. Sarap. She was also preceded in death by her sister-in-law Billie Kaye Sarap and godfather Law Ostovich. For many years, Mimi worked at the Hideway Lounge and Gio’s Family Restaurant. Most recently, she was an employee of Sheetz in Weirton. In addition to her mother Dolores, Mimi is survived by her companion Scott Sikora of Weirton, daughter Nichole Sarap of Pittsburgh, PA; brothers Daniel and his wife Karen and R. Mitch Sarap all of Weirton; sister Miya Rock and her husband John of New Cumberland, WV; godmother Mimi Ostovich of Wintersville, OH and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Sunday 1-3 and 6-8PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, where funeral services will be conducted at 11:00AM Monday with Reverend Patty Bucey Beagle presiding. Interment will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Weirton.   3. It was a blessing to be able to spend time with Mimi in November at our reunion. I will always remember her as the friend who would go over the creek and through the woods to come visit and vice versa. Mimi was one of those friends that no matter how much time had passed we were able to pick up and go on like we had just seen each other last week, which is refreshing because I know that when I see her again we will be able to just pick up and get on with it!

And like someone else had mentioned, even after having not seen her for a long time, when I did, there was no problem talking with her again, she made you feel comfortable, that was Mimi. Although I know you’ll miss her…may you find comfort in knowing she’s now in a much better place & free from all pain.   25. Oh Miya, I am so sorry! I just pulled up this website to check Milo’s arrangements and was so saddened to find Mimi’s name on the list. Zac & Tay were always happy when she was preparing sandwiches at Sheetz because she was the best. I am extremely sorry I didn’t pay my respects. She truly was a sweetheart and will be missed.
