It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude that we celebrate the life of Pastor Deborah Ann Ford, who was called to her eternal rest on September 20, 2025. Born on August 28, 1953, in Parkersburg, West Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Kenneth and Blanche (Davidson) Sams. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Jerry Riley. Deborah was a beacon of love and faith in her community, residing in Weirton, West Virginia, where she dedicated her life to serving others through her work as a pastor of true faith at Victory Life Church.
A cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and devoted pastor, Deborah lived a life filled with love, purpose, and faith. Throughout her life, Deborah embraced many roles-from secretary to customer service at Verizon, from cleaning to, most importantly, a passionate pastor. For 45 years, she dedicated her heart to the Victory Life Church, where her spirit helped build a community grounded in love and faith. She led Bible study groups, participated in the praise team, and spread the joy of God’s word through song and fellowship. Her passion for pastoral work was evident in all she did, and her legacy will continue to inspire those touched by her devotion. Even as she lay in her hospital bed, Deborah instilled the importance of salvation to the hospital staff. She never grew weary recruiting for God, knowing that a reward would come in God’s perfect time.
Deborah also had a love story, and it began in Georgetown, PA, where she met the love of her life, Rickie Ford. Married for an incredible 54 years, Rick knew from the moment he saw her beautiful blue eyes that she was the one destined to share his life. Together, they built a family and a legacy of faith that touched countless lives. Deborah is survived by her beloved husband, Rick; her son David Ford; her daughters Shawna Waugh (and son-in-law Lyle Waugh) and Sarah Ford; her grandchildren Trent and Logan Waugh; and her loving sisters Myrna Hudson, Betty Riley-Carlson, and Margaret Riley-Farnsworth.
Deborah’s life was a testament to the power of love, grace, and faith. She beautifully embodied the values she preached, and her legacy will live on in the hearts of all she influenced. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the love she shared so freely.
Family and friends may join to celebrate Deborah’s life on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, from 6-8PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, where funeral services will be held Thursday at 11AM, with celebrant Pastor Rick Ford honoring his wife’s legacy. Burial will follow at the Mill Creek Hill Cemetery, Georgetown, PA.

My heart is with you as we remember Aunt Deb—an extraordinary woman whose warmth, wisdom, and unwavering faith touched everyone she met. Her kindness radiated through every conversation, every prayer, and every quiet act of love. She was a guiding light, and her legacy will continue to shine through each of you.
Though words can’t ease the pain of her passing, may you find comfort in the memories you shared and the love that surrounds you. Aunt Deb’s spirit lives on in the laughter, strength, and compassion she instilled in her family.
