Pauline Rocchio, 81, of Weirton, died Monday, April 7, 2003 at the Weirton Geriatric Center. She was born April 9, 1921 in Weirton, daughter of the late Nick and Maria Pirraglia. Pauline was preceded in death by her husband, John “Joseph” Rocchio October 12, 1978; brothers Pete and Anthony Pirraglia and one granddaughter, Julie Nutter, in 1983. For 15 years, Pauline owned and operated Pauline’s Department Store and also was employed as an Assistant Manager of JoAnn Fabrics for 10 years. She was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Christian Mothers and the 4-Seasons Senior Citizens. She is survived by her son Frank Rocchio of Alpharetta, GA; daughters, Anne Nutter and her husband Philip, Mary DiFonzo and her husband Andrew, Joann Kondik and her husband David, Josette Hudek and her husband Martin all of Weirton, Jeanette Whitlatch and her husband Don of Laguna Beach, CA and Francine Quattrocchi and her husband Frank of Merritt Island, FL; sisters, Rose Orecchio, Minnie Lonchar and Frances Oliver of Weirton. Pauline also has 16 grandchildren and 7 great- grandchildren. Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Wednesday, April 9, 2003 at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, where a prayer service will be held Wednesday at 3:30PM. Funeral liturgy with mass will be held at 10:30AM on Thursday at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church. Rev. Father Stephen Dube will officiate. Entombment will follow at St. Paul Cemetery.
