Phillip S. Derby

Phillip S. Derby, 69, of Weirton, WV died Friday June 18, 2004, at the Weirton Medical Center.
He was born on August 7, 1934, in Pine Grove, WV, the son of the late Charles and Hattie (Dulaney) Derby. Phillip was also preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth and Allen Derby, and one sister Genevieve Snyder.
Phillip retired after 39 years from the Mason Department of Weirton Steel Corporation where he was a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of the Weirton Steel 25 Year Club. He loved his family, and camping.
Surviving include his wife Delores Leary Derby, whom he married on Sept 18, 1953; his son, Phillip T. Derby and his wife Vickie of Weirton;five daughters, Mrs. David (Phyllis) Harris of Weirton, Mrs. Daniel (Vickie) Strapazzon of New Cumberland; Mrs. Ronald (Elizabeth) Drysdale of Wellsville, OH; Brenda Grubor of Weirton, WV, and Michelle Shonkwiler of New Cumberland, WV;a brother Robert Derby of New Martinsville, WV; 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Sunday 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home 3219 Main Street Weirton, WV where funeral services will be held Monday at 1PM
Rev. Tom Derby will preside
Entombment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Weirton
