richard dofka, sr.
Richard J. Dofka, Sr., 78 of Brooksville, Florida, formerly of Weirton, passed away on November 24. He was born in Weirton on September 3, 1932, the oldest son of the late Joseph and Rose Dofka. Richard retired from the Mid-West Steel Division of National Steel Corporation. He served his country in the United States Navy in Korea. Richard enjoyed gardening and golf. His favorite saying was "I work 8 hours, I sleep 8 hours, I have 8 hours of fun." Richard is survived by his wife Jeanette of Brooksville; sons Richard Jr. and his wife Cathy of Brooksville, Mark and his wife Diane of Boardman, OH; daughter Lynette Tynan and husband Scott of Columbus, IN; 6 grandchildren, R.J., Carli, Shelby, Bradley, Liz and Emma; brother Edward and wife Barbara of Weirton, WV; sisters Rose Ann Keller and husband Bill of Denver, CO and Patty Zielinsky and husband Tom of Weirton, WV. Private services will be held at the convenience of Richard's family.

  6. To Richard’s Family: I worked with Richard at Midwest Steel and remember what a likeable guy he was. Working with him on the shift made the day a lot easier to get through. The memories of him are all good. I’m sure he will leave a void in many lives. My condolences go out to you.
