Robert Nathan (Bob) Mercer

Robert Nathan "Bob" Mercer, 76, of Weirton, passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at his home. He was born April 18, 1939 in New Cumberland, WV, a son of the late Dewey Alfie and Clara Esther Heffner Mercer. He was also preceded in death by his son Daniel Mercer, daughter Theresa Carnahan, grandchildren Latasha Patterson, Sean Carnahan and Samantha Moore, brothers Doral, DeWayne and Kenneth Mercer and sisters Eleanor Wynn, Donna Eubanks and Virginia Delekta.
Mr. Mercer was a former Weir-Cove cab driver and mechanic.
Bob is survived by his son David (Andrea) Mercer of Weirton; daughters Darla (Kelly) Kish of Merkel, TX, Carla (John) Moore of New Cumberland, Michele (David) Burkholder of Mingo Junction, OH, Roxanne McNeeley of Weirton and Kelly Gates of Wheeling, WV; brother Dwight (Mitzie) Mercer of East Liverpool, OH; sister Mary Mercer of Weirton; 18 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Thursday 4-8PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, where funeral services will be celebrated 11AM Friday. Minister Rick Tinsky will officiate. Interment will follow in Flats Cemetery, New Manchester, WV.
Bob’s Freedom Place family will miss him dearly. He was kind to everyone and loved by all. We will miss him watching baseball in the lobby, but he has the best view now.
