Robert S. Chuma, 82, of Weirton, passed away peacefully after a brief illness at Select Specialty Care, Weirton.

Born on August 23, 1942, in Steubenville, Ohio, Bob was the son of the late Nicholas and Helen Yuhas Chuma.

A graduate of Weir High School, Class of 1961, he dedicated his life to Weirton Steel, where he worked in the Production Planning Department.

A veteran of the United States Air Force, Bob honorably served his country for four years while stationed in Germany.

He was a true American, deeply proud of his military service and his time spent defending the values of his nation.

Robert was a faithful member of St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church in Weirton.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his sister, Patty Astfalk.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife Jane Viola Chuma, whom he married on July 22, 1989, family members, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends may visit Bob’s family on Sunday, March 16, from 2-5 pm at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV, where Liturgy of the Word Services will be conducted on Monday, March 17, at 10 am.

Interment will follow immediately in St. Paul’s Cemetery.

Fr. Binu Sebastian will preside.
