russell prochaska, jr.
Russell Carl Prochaska, Jr., 63, of Weirton, passed away Wednesday, February 23, 2011 in the Weirton Medical Center. Born December 16, 1947 in Glendale, WV, he was a son of the late Russell Carl and Elizabeth Mae Lashure Prochaska, Sr. He was also preceded in death by his sister Myrtle LeMasters. With 40 years of service, he retired from ArcelorMittal Weirton, where he worked in the BOP Caster Department. He was Catholic by faith and a member of the WSX 25-Year Club. Russell always enjoyed camping, hunting and boating with his family. He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Mr. Prochaska is survived by his wife Beatrica Colvin Prochaska; daughters Monica Pulice and her husband Dino, Lisa Phillips and her husband Charles, Kimberly Glass and her husband Joshua and Elizabeth Prochaska all of Weirton; sister Carol Jones of Weirton and grandchildren Bryan and Allison Phillips, Nicholas Glass and Nathaniel Pulice. Friends will be received Friday 2-4 and 6-8pm at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, where funeral services will be celebrated 11am Saturday. The Reverend David Colvin will officiate. Private interment will be in Maple Lane Masonic Cemetery, Hebron, WV.

  10. So sorry for your lose. We grew up together as good friends in Sun Valley. Knew the whole family. sister and mom and dad. Spent a lot of good times just doing what kids do growing up. I will always remember his smile. I am so sorry for your family lose. I worked at Sun Valley Store and we would all get together and go roller skating to drive in. there was about 15 of us that just hung out together, more like brothers and sisters. So sorry for your lose. I will miss him and his smile. Sue

  17. I just found out that Russ had passed. He was a good cousin when I would visit him and his family way back when. He drove me in from the airport when my Dad died in 1978. I really have only seen Monica since then. I am sorry I missed the funeral, but I work out of town and only read the paper once in a while. Only good memories of Russ remain.
