Sondra Lee Ehler Pennacchio, 76, of Weirton, went to be with our Lord, on Tuesday, August 18, 2015. Born on August 19, 1938, in Wheeling, WV, Sondra was a daughter of the late Charles and Elizabeth (Smith) Ehler. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Ruth Brinkman. A graduate of the Class of 1956 of Saint Joseph's Academy, in Wheeling, Sondra worked for Dr. Perez, as a secretary, and also worked the voting polls for Hancock County. Sondra was a loving, devoted wife and a wonderful, caring mother. NaNa lived to please her grandchildren. She enjoyed taking care of her family and keeping a tidy house. She really enjoyed the trips her and her husband, John, took to Williamsburg and Sugar Creek. Her family and friends will always remember, when the Guiding Light was on television, you could only call to talk during a commercial break. Sondra was a member of Saint Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, Saint Joseph's Christian Mothers, and the treasurer of the Women's Auxiliary of the Weirton Knights of Columbus. She is survived by her loving husband, John J, Pennacchio, Sr.; loving children, John J. Pennacchio, Jr. (Christina) of Weirton, WV, Lisa M. (Pennacchio) Ayers (Dan) of Carlisle, PA, and Tony Pennacchio of Dallas TX; loving grandchildren, John J. Pennacchio, III, Monica M. Pennacchio, Stephanie M. Pennacchio, and Alex Ayers; loving brother, Ed Ehler (Sharen) of Wheeling, WV; several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM, at the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street Weirton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 AM Friday at Saint Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, Weirton. Rev. Fr. Tony Thurston will preside.
