Sophie Ann Melvin

Sophie Ann Melvin, 73, of Weirton, passed away Tuesday, November 23, 2004 at the Brightwood Nursing Home in Follansbee, WV. Born March 20, 1931 in Canton, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late George and Mildred Bellopatrick Olivich. She was also preceded in death by her brother George Olivich, Jr. Sophie was a homemaker and worked as a waitress at various restaurants in the Weirton area. She was a former member of the Moose Lodge #688. Sophie’s survivors include her son David Ford of Sarasota FL; daughters Dori White and her husband Wayne of Merritt, NC and Diane Grandon and her husband Bill of Sandyville, WV; sister Jean Larsen of Chico, CA; four grandchildren, Shanna Lewis, Elizabeth White, David Ford and Taylor Grandon and three great-grandchildren, Austin, Aubrey and Leeland Lewis. Friends will be received Saturday from 2:00 until the 3:00PM memorial service at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. Rev. Pelton Vandercoy will preside.
