Thomas Gayle Brimner, 78, of Burgettstown, PA, passed away Saturday, December 14, 2013 at his home with his family at his side. Born June 28, 1935 in Midway, PA, Thomas was a son of the late John William and Lillian Bell Brimner. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Wayne Brimner. After 25 years of service, Thomas retired from Weirton Steel where he worked as a security guard. Thomas proudly served his country in the United States Army as a medical specialist. Thomas attended the Paris Presbyterian Church and he was a Mason in both the Burgettstown and Hanover Township Lodges. In his spare time, Thomas enjoyed woodworking and his 1983 Chrysler Cordoba. Thomas is survived by his wife, Amelia Saffle Brimner at home; son, Kevin D. Brimner and his wife Rosemary of New Cumberland, WV; daughter, Amy M. Brimner and her companion Jane Whieldon of Myrtle Beach, SC; sister, Agnes Laverne May of CA; and grandchildren Jaclyn Alyse and Mitchell Wayne Brimner. Keeping with Mr. Brimner's wishes, there will be no visitation. Entombment at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Weirton will be private and at the convenience of his family. A memorial service celebrating the life of Thomas has been scheduled for 11:00 AM Saturday, January 25, 2014 at the Paris Presbyterian Church, 127 Steubenville Pike, Burgettstown, PA with Reverend Dr. Christina Hosler officiating. Donations in memory of Thomas should be made to Southern Care Hospice, 90 West Chestnut Street, 5th Floor Suite 500, Washington, PA 15301, or to ALS Western Pennsylvania Chapter, 416 Lincoln Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15209.   8. I am sorry that I did not make the service. Tom meant so much to me. I looked forward to his visits at the credit union. union. Always had a smile, always joking. always a kind word to say. He will forever be in my heart. I had the pleasure of meeting his beautiful wife and children. It hurts that he is gone, but we know he is in a better place, after what was a wonderful life.
