timothy snodgrass

Timothy James Snodgrass, seventy-seven of Follansbee, WV, passed away at Brightwood Center on March 1, 2026, after a prolonged battle with a rare blood cancer.

He was born in Steubenville, OH, on July 31, 1948.

Tim, a son of Frank (Eddie) and Edith (Sally) Snodgrass, grew up in Weirton. He was the grandson of Roy and Hazel (Vale) Snodgrass and Max and Martha (Drechel) Pfiller.

He was president of the 1966 senior class of Weir High School, where he graduated tenth in his class of 360 students. He attended Bethany College for two years, joined Delta Tau Delta Fraternity, then transferred to the University of Pittsburgh, where he earned his undergraduate degree in 1970 and his Juris Doctor in 1974. He was admitted to the Bar of the U.S. District Court, Western District of Pennsylvania in 1974.

Tim was a lawyer for the Small Business Administration and subsequently at various law firms in Pittsburgh, where he practiced commercial and consumer law. He also served in the National Guard.

Tim was a sports fan, an avid reader and researcher, and an accomplished pianist. He had a wonderful sense of humor that kept those around him uplifted and joyful.

Tim was a leader who always took the time to help those along the way. He was a kind, caring person who put others first. He will be greatly missed by his relatives, friends, and associates, who loved him very much.

Tim had many good friends over the years, but was especially blessed with the friendships of Kay Bilal, Shirley, and David Shuler of Weirton.

He is survived by many cousins spread across the USA, including Denise Chamberlain of Sun City Center, Florida, Kathy Snodgrass of Vienna, Virginia, Jean DePoy of Clayton, North Carolina, JoAnn Williams of Jacksonville, Florida, William Monney of Brook Park, OH, and Katie Rispoli of Cleveland, OH.

Guestbook

  1. Kathy and family.
You have our sympathy and love. Tim was a special person. May he RIP. DELTA TAU DELTA brothers.
    Mark and Barbara Trushel

  2. Candle Selection 2I have fond memories of Tim when we were kids. He was 8 years older, but always willing to have some fun with me. He had a “Jackrabbit” gas-powered racer that we raced up and down the street. We played with his dog, Frisky. And when Tim got to junior high and wanted to practice dancing, I was his partner for years. I hoped that I helped Tim perfect his smooth moves on the school dance floors. Denise

  3. Tim was a very polite, kind man, always with a smile on his face.
He definitely was one of our favorite patrons! We Will Miss him!

  4. Tim, my cousin, classmate, and friend shared many good times with me over the years. I just wish your health would have permitted many more. You were a very brave soldier to the end, and now have well deserved peace. As I suspect you would say, “au revoir.”
