Wallace Joseph (Wuz) Jeffe, 84 of Weirton, died Wednesday March 20, 2002 at the Weirton Medical Center. He was born on June 7, 1917 in Farrell, PA, the son of the late Frank and Christina Cola Gife. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Rose Nonno, Caroline and Joan Miglorato He retired as a general foreman in the Open Hearth, after 40 years of service with Weirton Steel. He was a US Navy veteran of World War II, where he saw combat throughout the South Pacific. Wallace was a member of Saint Nicholas Orthodox Church, Life member of the VFW Post 2716, Past Commander of the American Legion Post 10, Life member of the Pleasant Valley Country Club, B.P.O.E. 1801, Moose Lodge 688, Serbian Men’s Club, Weirton Steel 25 year club, AARP and Three Score Senior Citizens Club. Surviving, include his wife Helen Kamarec Jeffe ; his two sons, Wallace Joseph (Wuz) Jeffe, Jr. and his wife Becki of Weirton, WV, Frank and his wife Karen Jeffe of Newtown, CT.; his daughter, Barbara Willets and her husband, Ken of Mt Airy, MD; grandchildren, Cathy and Mark Willets, Dean and Kristin Jeffe, Sarah and Jason Jeffe; great grandchildren, Mikayla Willets and Mike Fry Visitation will be 1-3 & 7-9 PM Sunday at the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home 3219 Main Street Weirton. Additional visitation will be Monday from 11 AM until time of service at 12 noon at the Saint Nicholas Orthodox Church 608 Colliers Way Weirton, WV Rev. Fr Theodore Shomsky will officiate. Interment will follow at Saint Nicholas Orthodox Cemetery with Military Graveside services held by the American legion Post 10 Honor Guard, VFW 2716 Firing Squad and the Tri State Marine Corp.
