Walter C. Komorowski, 90, of Weirton, passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2007 at the Weirton Medical Center. Born December 21, 1916 in Natrona, PA, he was the son of the late Zigmund and Sophie Krukowski Komorowski. Walter was also preceded in death by his wife Irene Sugajski Komorowski on March 23, 1995; brother John Komorowski; sister Laura Maxian and son-in-law Larry Gryskevich. With 35 years of service, Walter retired from Weirton Steel. He was a member of Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church and the WSX 25-Year Club. Walter’s survivors include his sons Walter C. Komorowski, Jr. and his wife April of Weirton and Ronald M. Komorowski and his wife Patty of Follansbee; daughter Theresa A. Gryskevich of Weirton; sister Eleanor Peterson of Weirton; 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. There will be a private family visitation will be held at the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home 3219 Main Street Weirton. A memorial liturgy with mass will be celebrated 10 AM Monday at Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church with Reverend Father Kent Durig presiding. Interment will be in Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona, PA.   9. Ryan, Ronnie, Craig, Kevin and Cory I lost my grandfather 3 years ago. Cory and Kevin probably knew him better but it still leaves an empty space. Time does help it but it’s never the same. It has probably been 25 years or more since I last saw you guys. Seems like it takes a funeral to gather the scattered. Best wishes to all you.
