William H. Fair, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on January 3, 2026, at WVU Weirton Medical Center.
He was born on February 20, 1965, in Weirton, to Bernard and Alma Jackson Fair.
A graduate of Weir High School, class of 1984, Bill dedicated most of his life to being an over-the-road truck driver, finishing his working career in the city of Weirton, where he built lasting relationships with colleagues and the community.
An avid angler, Bill could often be found casting his line in every pond, creek, and river within a 50-mile radius of Weirton. He had a passion for building model semi-trucks, showcasing his creativity and attention to detail. In addition to his many hobbies, he enjoyed playing drums and guitar.
Bill cherished his family immensely, especially his three grandchildren, who brought him endless joy. He found happiness in the simple pleasures of life: spending time with loved ones, watching black-and-white Western movies like Gunsmoke, and enjoying the open road on his Harley.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his brother Bernard “Andy” Fair.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Julia Kelly Fair, whom he married on August 11, 1990, sons Samuel and William Fair, both of Weirton; daughter Ashley (John) Kilmartin, Jr., of Weirton; brothers Guy(Pam) Fair of Weirton and Eugene Fair of New Cumberland; and grandchildren Jack Kilmartin, and Keegan, and Sophia Fair.
Friends are invited to visit Bill’s family on Wednesday, January 7, from 4-6 pm at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, where his Memorial Service will be held at 6 pm.
Reverend Seth Filburn will officiate.
Bill’s wish for cremation will be honored.
He will be cremated at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home Crematory.

To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Bill went home. Right now he is seeing loved ones that went ahead of him and seeing things no eye, ear or mind can conceive. We will miss him here, but be at peace knowing he is home and one day we will see him again. May God send his Angels to comfort his family and friends during this time.
