William Edward Glover, 80, of Weirton died Wednesday, December 8, 2004, at his son’s home in Brookfield, OH. He was born on November 21, 1924, in Mannington, WV, the son of the late William E. and Mary A. White Glover. William was also preceded in death by his wife Ellen Jean Moore Glover on March 5, 2003; and a sister, Mattie Katherine Glover on March 5, 1942. William retired from Weirton Steel after 25 years of service as a carpenter. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II in the 1276 Engineering Combat Battalion. William was appointed a Kentucky Colonel. He was a member of the Weirton Heights Memorial Baptist Church, a 50 year Master Mason of the AF & AM Lodge 171, Weirton Steel 25 Year Club and the 1276 Engineer Combat Battalion. William is survived by his son, Richard A Glover and his wife Sandy of Brookfield, OH; three grandsons, R. Aaron Glover of Brookfield, OH, Father Jason Glover of Hermitage, PA, and Matthew Glover and his wife Amber of Masury, OH; two great granddaughters, Ava and Lili Glover. Visitation will be 7-9 Friday at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV. Additional visitation will be 10 AM until time of service at 11 AM Saturday at the Weirton Heights Memorial Baptist Church, 121 Ivy Street, Weirton. Interment will follow at the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens with Masonic Graveside Services. Share tributes with his family at www.grecohertnick.com.
