Denise Kay Decker, 50, of New Cumberland, WV, passed away Sunday, October 16, 2011 at her residence. She was born July 3, 1961 in Weirton the daughter of the late Bartlett and Wilma Sams Wharton. Denise was employed by Mountaineer Gaming Resort as a restaurant supervisor and was a homemaker. She was Christian by faith. She is survived by her husband Richard Decker of New Cumberland, WV; son Jacob Decker of Bell Vernon, PA; daughter Katy Decker of New Cumberland, WV; brothers Robert and Bartlett Wharton Jr. both of Weirton; sisters Susan Ireland of New Cumberland, WV, Rebecca Pope, Cathy Krnaich, Linda Waide all of Weirton, WV and Karen Wearch of Rockford, IL; grandchild Ezri Decker of Bell Vernon, PA. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main St, Weirton, WV. Funeral services will be Wednesday, 11:00 AM in the funeral home with Reverend Michael Waide officiating.   21. What a wonderful person!! I have grown up knowing the Wharton family. Denise’s mom and dad were such kind and wonderful people. So easy to see where she got that from. I will always cherish the wonderful times we had in PTA and at Wina’s Studio. It was always apparent in her actions how much she loved children and how proud she was of her son and daughter. Katy, my heart aches for you. I hope the kind words of others help to heal your heart.
