Roland David Gilmore, 72, of New Cumberland passed away Thursday, January 17, 2013 in his residence. He was born in Chicago, Ill on October 15, 1940 and was preceded in death by his parents. David was a US Air Force Veteran and was employed as a land man with an independent gas and oil contractor. He was a hard worker and was a very Christian man. David is survived by many friends including Rev. Stephen Crawford and his wife Bobbi Jo with whom he resided; and his church family. Friends may call on Monday, January 28, 2013 from 6-7 pm at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main St. Weirton where Memorial services will be held at 7 pm. Inurnment will be held at the convenience of his family. Honoring David's request please consider a contribution to the Teramana Cancer T.E.A.R. Fund, 380 Summit Avenue, Steubenville, OH 43952 in his memory.

  1. Hi Dad, Im happy you are with Jesus now. You and I know what your true wishes were, and no one can take that away. I know you did the best you could in this life, and I always wanted you. I know you loved me too. I guess there was a bigger plan that only God knows, so I completely trust in His wisdom. I wish things had been different for us, but they werent.   2. Dear Dave, You’re finally where you longed to be, with your saviour, Jesus. Knowing you these past 5 years has been such a blessing. The past 7 months having you here in our home was such a joy. You became our chosen family. God has truly blessed us with knowing you and having you share our lives. Sometimes things were tricky, but we wouldnt trade it for anything. You are very loved and missed by all of us. Enjoy your eternity! I am thankful that I had the opportunity to meet Dave at Colonial Baptist Church and will always remember him for the wonderful testimony of his love for Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior and for the tremendous strength and faithfullness he had always shown as he walked with and trusted our Lord, both before and throughout the course of his illness. His testimony will continue to live on as a blessing to those who knew him and an encouragement for us all! I can just imagine our Heavenly Father saying to Dave, Well done, thou good and faithful servant. .
